Welcome!

Welcome to our new J A L A Garden blog!

We would like to invite you to join us as we share a deeper look into the art of Landscape Architecture.  Please follow us as we share our thoughts, current designs, tips, and overall enjoyment of this craft.  Our goal is to make this an open conversation that explores all aspects of design.  From the personal interests and dreams of the homeowner, to the hard work of the craftsman, we hope that this becomes much more than educational but rather an appreciation and a joy for the outdoor spaces that surround us.

“No occupation is so delightful to me as the culture of the earth, and no culture comparable to that of the garden.” – Thomas Jefferson

  1. Thanks Noreen and Don! The siting of the gate arbor was in a long narrow corridor along the side yard which is usually a ‘no man’s land.’ Inspiration for the gardens came from the homeowner’s desire to provide views from various rooms inside the home as well as creating inviting perspectives in a broader context of the landscape.

  2. Great idea for a blog, I like the discussion that could out on the topic ART in landscape architecture as we often forget about that aspect in the conversations today. Great photography and I look forward to the topic.

  3. Best of luck to and for your blog, Jeff. A professional slant to blogging has been something I’ve comtemplated for a while. In your case it could prove to be an important part of your business marketing campaign. I hope you will find blogging to be as much rewarding as it is demanding (at times). I look forward to your future posts and wonderful project photography!
